Tahoma is 8-2 against Kennedy Catholic since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Tahoma Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kennedy Catholic Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Tahoma will be looking to keep their 14-game home win streak alive.
Last Thursday, Tahoma didn't have too much trouble with Decatur at home as they won 56-38. Given Tahoma's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Decatur is ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tahoma found their leader in underclassman Adalynn Busch, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Busch continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kate Wooten, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Even though Kennedy Catholic has not done well against Decatur recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Kennedy Catholic skirted past Decatur 49-46. The victory was just what Kennedy Catholic needed coming off of a 58-35 defeat in their prior match.
Kennedy Catholic found their leader in underclassman Gabriela King, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Riley Burns was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Tahoma has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for Kennedy Catholic, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9.
Keep an eye on the arc in Monday's match: Tahoma have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 6.5 threes per game. It's a different story for Kennedy Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 threes per game. Given Tahoma's sizeable advantage in that area, Kennedy Catholic will need to find a way to close that gap.
