Softball Recap: Badger Wins Going Away Against Lordstown

Badger won against Grand Valley on Wednesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Braves were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Lordstown Red Devils. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Reghan Broadwater was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Autumn Yesko was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Badger was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Badger has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Lordstown, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with the loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Badger wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 4-0 defeat against Maplewood on the 2nd. Lordstown has also already played their next contest (against Windham), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
