Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Davidson Academy walked away with it. They blew past Chattanooga Christian 49-27. The victory was just what Davidson Academy needed coming off of a 38-6 loss in their prior game.
Davidson Academy found their leader in underclassman Caden Stroud, who rushed for 193 yards and two touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown. Zach Madar made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Lausanne Collegiate entered their tilt with Battle Ground Academy with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Lausanne Collegiate breezed by Battle Ground Academy at home to the tune of 41-13. Given Lausanne Collegiate's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Battle Ground Academy is ranked 132nd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tyler Wilson was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Marterius Boyd was another key contributor, rushing for 62 yards and a touchdown.
Davidson Academy's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.78 points. As for Lausanne Collegiate, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as Davidson Academy and Lausanne Collegiate haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Davidson Academy commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Lausanne Collegiate struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 per game.
