Centennial has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Capital Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Centennial is ranked 56th, while Capital is ranked 73rd).
Centennial suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Middleton, falling 64-18. Centennial was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-14.
Capital posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2023 last Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 49-26 margin over Meridian. The victory was just what Capital needed coming off of a 68-25 loss in their prior contest.
Centennial's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.3 points per game. As for Capital, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.
Centennial came up short against Capital in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 46-39. Can Centennial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
