Bovina is 3-0 against Highland Park since December of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Bovina Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Highland Park Hornets at 7:45 p.m. Hopefully Bovina focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Bovina suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 69-38 defeat at the hands of Panhandle. Bovina was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Miguel Lopez, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Yandel Deleon, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Highland Park didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Boys Ranch on Friday, but they still walked away with a 58-52 win. The win was just what Highland Park needed coming off of a 63-37 defeat in their prior match.
This is the second loss in a row for Bovina and nudges their season record down to 9-15. As for Highland Park, their victory bumped their record up to 8-15.
Everything came up roses for Bovina against Highland Park when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 54-26 victory. Does Bovina have another victory up their sleeve, or will Highland Park turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
