After having lost a blowout in their previous game against La Jolla Country Day, El Cajon Valley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Mount Miguel Matadors 9-8. The win was some much needed relief for the Braves as it spelled an end to their 11-game losing streak.
The team relied heavily on Mila Castaneda, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Anahi Ochoa also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
El Cajon Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-17. As for Mount Miguel, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
