The Phoenix Spartans on the road again on Saturday and play against the Belle Chasse Cardinals at 11:00 a.m. on January 27th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Phoenix suffered their biggest loss since December 13, 2023 on Wednesday. They were the victim of a tough 49-27 loss at the hands of Chalmette.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jamiya Addison, who scored nine points.
While Belle Chasse couldn't quite beat New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy on Monday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 25-point defeat they were dealt last Thursday. Belle Chasse fell just short of New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy by a score of 33-31. Belle Chasse has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Phoenix's loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Belle Chasse, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Phoenix against Belle Chasse in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 54-11 victory. Does Phoenix have another victory up their sleeve, or will Belle Chasse turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
