The Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves and the Benjamin Buccaneers squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but sadly the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves had to settle for second. They took a hard 52-34 fall against the Buccaneers. Oxbridge Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Benjamin apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Ja?nyia Donaldson had a dynamite game for Benjamin, scoring 22 points. Donaldson is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Marlee Schwab, who scored ten points.
Oxbridge Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-12. As for Benjamin, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-13 record this season.
Oxbridge Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Benjamin is on the road again on Wednesday and plays King's Academy on February 7th. Benjamin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 411th, while King's Academy is ranked 39th).
