If the Epiphany Falcons were feeling good off their 55-29 takedown of the Gramercy Christian Warriors on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Epiphany was beaten by Rocky Mount Academy 54-26 on Thursday. Epiphany lost against Rocky Mount Academy in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 62-41 score last time.
Rocky Mount Academy found their leader in underclassman Taylor Carmichael, who scored 18 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Carmichael has scored at least 25% of Rocky Mount Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Proctor, who scored 9 points.
Epiphany's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Rocky Mount Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Epiphany will head out on the road to face off against Dixon at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Rocky Mount Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Howard at 4:00 p.m. on December 1st. Howard is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
