Make it ten blowout wins for the Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Caldwell Academy 62-28 at home. Given Wesleyan Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the are ranked 207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wesleyan Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Hawley, who scored 14 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Browne, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Wesleyan Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 19-10. As for Caldwell Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wesleyan Christian Academy will face off against the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Calvary Day School: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while the Trojans have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Caldwell Academy, they will face off against the Furies at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
