It was fun while it lasted, but Pottsville's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Thursday. They took a 44-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Minersville Battlin' Miners. The loss was the Crimson Tide's first of the season.

Pottsville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Letrel Montone, who made all 5 shots he took for 13 points. Another player making a difference was Ryder Bowers, who posted 11 points.

Minersville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shazier Bethea out in front who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. Bethea has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Kostishak, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 10 points and five rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pottsville fell to 3-1. As for Minersville, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Pottsville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-31 defeat against Wilson on the 14th. As for Minersville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-50 loss against Danville on the 14th.
