Andrews and the Stallions are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Andrews Yellowjackets will head out on the road to challenge the Lee Central Stallions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Andrews is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Even though Andrews has not done well against the Blazers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Andrews came out on top in a nail-biter against the Blazers and snuck past 53-51.
Meanwhile, Lee Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a hard 53-38 fall against Marion. While losing is never fun, Lee Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Swamp Foxes are ranked 35th).
Despite the loss, Lee Central saw an underclassman step up: Jadin Price scored ten points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Price has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chuck Harry, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Andrews' win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Lee Central, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.
Andrews was able to grind out a solid victory over the Stallions when the teams last played back in January, winning 38-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Andrews since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
