The Morristown Yellow Jackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 77-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of Anderson Prep Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Morristown's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was William Snyder, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Snyder scored 15 or more points. Cade Mahin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Anderson Prep Academy was led to victory by Camron Anderson and Lincoln Fathauer. Anderson scored 16 points along with nine assists and six rebounds, while Fathauer scored 24 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Anderson posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Markus McClain, who scored 12 points.
Morristown's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Anderson Prep Academy, their victory ended a 16-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.
Morristown will face off against North Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. North Decatur presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Morristown in Indiana (North Decatur is ranked 171st, while Morristown is ranked 422nd). As for Anderson Prep Academy, they will be playing at home against University at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. University is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
