After a string of five wins, the Whitharral Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Whiteface. If Whitharral was looking for revenge after losing 62-36 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Whitharral's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylee Kristinek, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kristinek has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery McCain, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Whitharral's loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 25-5. As for Whiteface, they pushed their record up to 27-4 with that victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.
Whitharral does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Whiteface will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Amherst will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1512th, while the Antelopes are ranked 230th).
