The West Seneca West Warhawks suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They were the victim of a rough 72-50 loss at the hands of Starpoint. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Seneca West in their matchups with Starpoint: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, West Seneca West saw an underclassman step up: Sophie Robertson scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Robertson scored 15 or more points. Ava Gunnells was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two blocks.
West Seneca West's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Starpoint, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
West Seneca West will be playing in front of their home fans against Williamsville East at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Williamsville East will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while West Seneca West is ranked 137th). Starpoint won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Wilson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
