This season hasn't been kind to the Arlington Baptist Eagles, who are still winless after their seventh game. They took a 71-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Living Grace Christian on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Arlington Baptist lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zachary Davis, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Davis' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brendon Brown, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds.
Arlington Baptist's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Living Grace Christian, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arlington Baptist won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Frederick W at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Frederick W is ranked 84th, while Arlington Baptist is ranked 96th). Living Grace Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Chapelgate Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on December 20th. Hopefully Chapelgate Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
