Garrison is 1-6 against Timpson since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Garrison Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Timpson Bears at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Garrison comes in on three and Timpson on 13.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Garrison walked away with it. They blew past the Bulldogs, posting a 47-20 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Garrison, who have now won 11 matches by 26 points or more so far this season.
Garrison's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javien Black, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Omarion Rasberry also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Timpson put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Honey Grove 68-7 on the road. Given Timpson's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Honey Grove is ranked 347th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 12-1.
Garrison came up short against Timpson in their previous matchup on November 3rd, falling 35-26. Can Garrison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
