Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Life Oak Cliff). They put the hurt on the Village Tech Viper Squid with a sharp 27-9 win on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Life Oak Cliff got a massive performance out of Jesica Hernandez, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave Hernandez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leila Ruiz, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Life Oak Cliff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .791. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-8-1. As for Village Tech, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Life Oak Cliff will welcome Keene at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keene has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.44 runs per game on average), something Life Oak Cliff will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Village Tech, they will square off against Trinity Leadership on Tuesday.
