The Kearny Komets pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sweetwater. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kearny in their matchups with Sweetwater: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Kearny still got an impressive performance from Elijah Queen, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. The matchup was Queen's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Cameron Ackerman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Daniel Arce continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sweetwater, scoring 27 points. Arce set a new season high mark in points with 27. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Saludares, who scored 13 points.
Kearny's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Sweetwater, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Kearny will be playing in front of their home fans against Chula Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sweetwater, they will head out on the road to face off against Preuss UCSD at 6:00 p.m. on December 14th. Preuss UCSD comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
