BALTIMORE, Md. - The defense contributed on the scoring end for
Gilman (Baltimore, Md.) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Greyhounds beat McDonogh (Owings Mills, Md.) 48-12.
The Greyhounds were up 20-6 at the half after taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter.
Gilman expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. GHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run.
With the win the Baltimore school extended its winning streak to seven games. The Greyhounds defeated the Cardinals 24-14 last week.
The Eagles came in allowing just 17.4 points per game this season. Led by
Micah Kiser, Gilman had given up an average of 13.1 points prior to the contest.
A 31-21 Gilman victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after McDonogh defeated Mount St. Joseph 24-0 last week.
