After flying high against the Tushka Tigers on Thursday, the Hugo Buffaloes came back down to earth. Hugo took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holdenville on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Hugo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while Holdenville is ranked 13th).
Kase Sipes was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points for Holdenville. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Piza, who scored 10 points.
Hugo now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Holdenville, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hugo is on the road again on Friday and play against Star-Spencer at 8:00 p.m. on December 15th. As for Holdenville, they will square off against Wewoka at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
