Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grace Davis). Everything went their way against the Ceres Bulldogs on Friday as the Grace Davis Spartans made off with a 78-55 victory. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 60-57 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Ceres lost, don't look at Manuel Ortega. Despite the final result, he went 13 for 29 en route to 32 points. That was a full 58.2% of Ceres' points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Jaylen Pettigrew was another key player, putting up ten points.

Grace Davis' victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Ceres, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Davis will face off against Pacheco at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Grace Davis is facing Pacheco at the right time seeing as Pacheco is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Ceres, they will take on Beyer at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
