It was a good run, but The Millry Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They suffered a rough 26-0 loss at the hands of Leroy. The low total for Millry limited their streak of high-flying scores to three in a row.
Daylon Edmunds rushed for 110 yards. Eli Adams was his top target, picking up 116 receiving yards.
Brayden Huebner looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 171 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Taylor Crumedy also helped out with an impressive 105 receiving yards.
Millry's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Leroy, their victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 9-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millry will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Notasulga at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. One thing working in Notasulga's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four contests. As for Leroy, they will stay at home for another week and welcome Washington County. Washington County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Leroy is ranked 132nd).
