Lakewood scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Archbishop Murphy, 49-0. At the time, the Wildcats was ranked 22nd in the state, while the Cougars was 34th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Lakewood, who took down 22nd ranked Archbishop Murphy, 49-0. Justin Peterson threw for 61 yards and one touchdown, ran for 62 yards and caught two passes for 67 yards in the win.
Dan Teeter's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Donovan Evans helped Lakewood's passing attack out by catching two balls for 61 yards.
Kolby Schueller put up the best numbers through the air as the Cougars defeated Bill Marsh's team. He finished with a total of four completions for 74 yards and one touchdown.
King's's Billy Green and Caleb Taylor have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 1A/2A Cascade in both passing and receiving yards. Green has thrown for 751 yards this season, while Taylor, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 23 catches for 350 yards. Evans from Lakewood leads the league in rushing with 378 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Sultan takes on the Knights. The Turks are in third place, while King's is in second place.
Schueller and Peterson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against the Wildcats. The connection was good for 57 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
