Despite the defeat, Washburn Rural had strong showings from Griffin Durst, who scored 18 points, and JC Heim, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Durst continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of John Hoytal, who scored ten points.
Hayden dropped their record down to 4-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Washburn Rural, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
Hayden was dealt a bruising 62-29 defeat at the hands of Washburn Rural in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Washburn Rural's Amare Jones, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
