The Maine East Blue Demons won the last time they faced the Niles North Vikings, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Maine East enjoyed a cozy 45-31 victory over Niles North.
Maine East found their leader in underclassman Arabella Silva, who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The contest was Silva's 19th in a row with at least ten points. Maria Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Maine East has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. As for Niles North, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maine East is on the road again on Friday and play against Highland Park at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. As for Niles North, they will challenge Maine West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
