If the Camden County Wildcats were feeling good off their 60-38 takedown of the Richmond Hill Wildcats last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Camden County fell just short of Valdosta by a score of 47-45. Camden County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Valdosta apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Camden County lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Antwann Brown, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Murray, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, Camden County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valdosta only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Leading Valdosta to victory were Eric Love and Grant Jackson. Love scored 15 points along with two steals, while Jackson scored ten points along with two steals. Chase Holmes was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Camden County's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Valdosta, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-5.
Camden County will head out on the road to square off against Lowndes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lowndes is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season. Valdosta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
