Basketball Recap: Cape Coral Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Cape Coral had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took down the North Fort Myers Red Knights 59-44. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Seahawks also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Despite the loss, North Fort Myers still got an impressive performance from Robert Ballesteros, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 15 points and three steals. Adrian Scott was another key player, putting up eight points.

Cape Coral's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for North Fort Myers, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-6.

Cape Coral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-46 defeat against Southeast on the 26th. After both having extra time off, North Fort Myers and Estero will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 4:55 p.m. on January 1, 2025. Estero knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully North Fort Myers likes a good challenge.
