The Follett Panthers waltzed into Friday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They had just enough and edged Miami out 43-40. That's two games straight that Follett has won by exactly three points.
Follett's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexia Dorris, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Reyna Rosales, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds.
Follett has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Miami, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-9 record last season and are now at 3-5.
Follett will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against McLean at 6:00 a.m. McLean presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Follett in Texas (McLean is ranked 279th, while Follett is ranked 743rd). As for Miami, they will head out on the road to face off against Hedley at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
