Softball Recap: Baker County's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Baker County fell victim to Baldwin and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Baldwin Indians. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their undefeated season.

Baker County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Masyn Barlow, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Kentlee Payne also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Baker County fell to 7-1-1. As for Baldwin, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baker County will face off against Montverde Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Baker County 1.9, Montverde Academy 0.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Baldwin, they will challenge First Coast at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. First Coast has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight defeats, while Baldwin will come in with three straight wins.
