After a string of ten wins, the Carroll Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 56-49 to McCutcheon. Carroll was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as McCutcheon apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Carroll lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alli Harness. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Harness has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times she's played. Emily Justice was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 11 rebounds.
Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for McCutcheon, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
Carroll will take on Clinton Prairie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinton Prairie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Carroll is ranked 44th). As for McCutcheon, they will head out on the road to square off against Muncie Central at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Muncie Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
