The Classen SAS Comets will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Hoops for Christ Warriors at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Classen SAS has seven straight victories, the Warriors have seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Classen SAS really took it to the Bobcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-39 victory at home. With Classen SAS ahead 43-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Classen SAS can attribute much of their success to Kamyiah Morgan, who scored 17 points, and Skylar Durley, who scored 22 points along with two steals. Durley is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for six games straight. Another player making a difference was Paige Williams, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Hoops for Christ came up short against the Warriors last Friday and fell 49-39. While losing is never fun, Hoops for Christ can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 399th in Oklahoma, while the Warriors are ranked 159th in Kansas).
Classen SAS has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Hoops for Christ, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
Everything came up roses for Classen SAS against the Warriors when the teams last played back in December of 2018 as the team secured a 69-11 victory. With Classen SAS ahead 42-4 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
