The South Summit Wildcats put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Providence Hall for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-45 victory at home. The result was nothing new for South Summit, who have now won six games by 22 points or more so far this season.
South Summit's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Woolstenhulme, who scored 30 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Woolstenhulme has scored at least 25% of South Summit's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Mckee, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 14 rebounds, and ten blocks.
Providence Hall's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Ballard, who scored eight points. Dallin Wells was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
South Summit pushed their record up to 12-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Providence Hall, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Summit will square off against Ben Lomond at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ben Lomond has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Providence Hall will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Judge Memorial Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th.
