The Quincy Orioles can finally bid farewell to their 13-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They breezed by Union City at home to the tune of 61-33. Quincy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Quincy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alyssa McCavit, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McCavit has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kendyl Musielewicz, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Union City still got an impressive performance from Jordan Chard, who scored 11 points along with five assists and four steals.
Quincy's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-8. As for Union City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.
Quincy will head out on the road to face off against Springport at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Springport's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Quincy has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road. Union City will take on Concord at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Concord is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.8 points per game.
