Covington is 8-2 against Milton-Union since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Covington Buccs will be playing at home against the Milton-Union Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Covington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
While Covington's win against Northridge wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came away the winners. Covington came out on top in a nail-biter against Northridge on Saturday and snuck past 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Covington has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, Milton-Union stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They really took it to Dayton Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-20 victory at home. That looming 56-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Milton-Union yet this season.
Jenna Brumbaugh and Shannon Brumbaugh were among the main playmakers for Milton-Union as the former scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals and the latter scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Brumbaugh scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Layman, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Covington's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Milton-Union, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
Covington strolled past Milton-Union in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 46-30. Does Covington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Milton-Union turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
