Basketball Recap: Tyrek Anthony's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fort Campbell over Todd County Central

Fort Campbell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 63-46 to the Todd County Central Rebels. The Falcons lost against the Rebels in their previous head to head back in February of 2016, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 74-32 score last time.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyrek Anthony, who went 9 for 20 on his way to 23 points. Anthony's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Israel Dillard, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Fort Campbell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.

Brett Harris had an outrageously good game for Todd County Central as he went 6 of 9 on his way to 19 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Harris a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Holder, who posted 14 points.

Fort Campbell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Todd County Central, with the victory, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-6.

Fort Campbell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-46 loss against Montgomery Central on the 21st. As for Todd County Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-29 defeat against Mayfield on the 21st.
