In this week's power rankings, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down, along with everything in between. Among the action were the efforts of Coeur d'Alene's senior Kale Edwards, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Coeur d'Alene got a 49 - 13 win over Lewiston last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Kale Edwards. Edwards tossed the ball for 364 yards and four TDs. In fact, our algorithms singled out Edwards as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
Movin on Up
Sugar-Salem was the big favorite in its game against Teton last week, and for good reason. Sugar-Salem picked up a decisive 'W' against Teton, finishing up at 56 - 13. One of the main ringleaders for Sugar-Salem was junior Hadley Miller, who earned two touchdowns and 153 yards rushing the ball. The success catapulted Sugar-Salem six spots up the power rankings, enough to make it the biggest riser of the week.
No Stoppin 'Em
The match between Meridian and Boise last week put some strain on the scoreboard; in fact, with a total of 78 final points, it was the highest scoring contest in the power rankings for the week. Meridian scooted by Boise with a score of 49 - 29. Meridian's offense might have been extra motivated to turn things around after difficulties scoring in its previous game.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Highland (5th in the power rankings) and Madison (4th). Both teams are entering with last-week wins under their belts. Madison and Highland both have plenty of landslide victories under their belts (Madison with four and Highland with three), but only one can come away triumphant this week. We'll find out who that is soon.
