Clover is 0-3 against Catawba Ridge since April of 2025 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles will welcome the Copperheads at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Clover needed a bit of extra time to put away Nation Ford. They had just enough and edged out the Falcons 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted against the Falcons since March 13, 2024.
Carson Politsch made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other pitching news, Justin Cox looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Clover is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-9 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Aiden Smith was excellent, going 3-for-6 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Thomas Hardwick was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Catawba Ridge waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bearcats a 3-0 shutout.
Clover now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Catawba Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.
