Baseball Game Preview: Erath Bobcats vs. Eunice Bobcats

We've got a battle between Bobcats coming up. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Erath comes in on five and Eunice on three.

Erath is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Abbeville get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Tate Collins and Dominic Frederick were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Collins pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Frederick pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. At bat, Collins scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Frederick scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Erath is undefeated when Frederick posts two or more runs, but 7-9-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, Seth Leger was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Landon Lemaire was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, everything went Eunice's way against LaGrange on Tuesday as Eunice made off with a 13-3 win. Considering the Bobcats have won eight matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Erath's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-9-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Eunice, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.

Erath came out on top in a nail-biter against Eunice when the teams last played back in March of 2022, sneaking past 8-7. Will Erath repeat their success, or does Eunice have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
