ALTA LOMA, Calif. - A 28-point lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter didn't slow down
Upland (Calif.) as it put 14 more points on the scoreboard to secure its victory over Alta Loma (Calif.) 48-6.
The Highlanders/Scots were up 34-0 at the half after taking the lead on a
Joe Criscione touchdown pass to
Russell Boucher in the first quarter.
With the win Upland extended its winning streak to nine games. UHS defeated the Grizzlies 47-7 last week.
Adonis Harrison stood out for the Highlanders/Scots in the win. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
The Braves' Justin Szczepanski played well. The senior tight end caught one touchdown.
Alta Loma's lone touchdown came on a 3-yard pass from Nico Martinez to Szczepanski in the third quarter.
Led by
Joe Mathis, Upland came into the game allowing 17.4 points per game. AL's six points were well below its season average of 19.8 per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, UHS came away with a 49-3 victory.
In a Baseline game next week Alta Loma (4-5) takes on Rancho Cucamonga, and Upland (9-0) will go up against Etiwanda also in a Baseline game.
