Everett extended the longest winning streak in Capital Area - Blue this week by beating Grand Ledge, 22-21. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Vikings.
The Comets suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after losing to Everett. Grand Ledge had been ranked 25th, but fell to 29 following the defeat.
Holt's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Eric Potter threw for 172 and one touchdown and Trevor Stone had 60 yards receiving. On the ground Ty Glover chipped in 149 yards. Jalen Scott helped Holt's passing attack out by catching three balls for 49 yards.
East Lansing's JAKE PENDRED and JAVON HAINES have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. PENDRED has thrown for 874 yards this season, while HAINES, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 32 catches for 539 yards. Glover from the Rams leads the league in rushing with 867 yards.
Marcelle Carruthers' team and Matt Bird's team played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Marcelle Carruthers' team eventually emerging with a 22-21 victory.
