Basketball Recap: Mark Holland Key Part of a Team Effort in Bobcats Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Manzanola took on Aguilar on Wednesday. The Manzanola Bobcats walked away with a 45-32 win over the Aguilar Wildcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bobcats also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2018.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manzanola to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mark Holland, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 boards gave Holland a new career-high. Josiah Chavez was another key player, putting up seven points.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Gonzales, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Gonzales is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Caiden Gomez, who posted ten points.

The victory made it two in a row for Manzanola and bumps their season record up to 2-5. As for Aguilar, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Manzanola wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-25 loss against Walsh on the 17th. Aguilar has also already played their next game (against Moffat), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
