Marist is a perfect 3-0 against Saint Ignatius College Prep since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The RedHawks will venture away from home to square off against the Wolfpack at 4:30 p.m. Marist's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so Saint Ignatius College Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Marist heads into the contest have just come up short against nationally ranked Lake Central (Marist was ranked 48th at the time). The RedHawks fell in a 5-3 heartbreaker to the Indians. The RedHawks' defeat signaled the end of their 21-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Saint Ignatius College Prep entered their tilt with Amundsen on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Vikings.

Eliana Romero was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Samantha Steinhofer was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Saint Ignatius College Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Saint Ignatius College Prep's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-17. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Marist, their loss dropped their record down to 29-2.

Marist took their victory against Saint Ignatius College Prep in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the RedHawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
