Fox Creek has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Strom Thurmond Rebels at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Fox Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 611 points over their last nine matchups.
Fox Creek scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Horse Creek Academy 83-39 at home. Fox Creek has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.
Fox Creek's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Connor Cannon, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds, and Blake Holloway, who scored 19 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Holloway has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brelan Baskett, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Strom Thurmond waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 43-35 victory over Silver Bluff.
Fox Creek pushed their record up to 13-9 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.9 points per game. As for Strom Thurmond, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Fox Creek came up short against Strom Thurmond in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 59-49. Can Fox Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
