Woodgrove has been on the road for three straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Loudoun Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
On Monday, Woodgrove made easy work of Heritage and carried off a 65-44 victory. Given Woodgrove's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Heritage is ranked 377th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dane Marsh continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Fuller, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Loudoun Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Loudoun County 82-53 at home. That looming 82-53 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Loudoun Valley yet this season.
Woodgrove's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Loudoun Valley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Woodgrove beat Loudoun Valley 48-37 in their previous matchup back in February. Will Woodgrove repeat their success, or does Loudoun Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
