Football Recap: Mead Falls Short of Thompson Valley in the Playoffs

Mead and Thompson Valley squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Mead had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Thompson Valley Eagles by a score of 16-14. Despite 84 more yards than the Eagles, the Mavericks couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Although Mead took the loss, they still got scores from Noah Vroman and Ryan St. Aubin.

Mead didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Charles Baker. Mead got some further help from Josh Gonsalves: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Mead moved to 11-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Thompson Valley, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

As of now, neither Mead nor Thompson Valley have any future games scheduled.
