Mia Aguiluz was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Aguiluz was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Sofia Barrera was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Nathalia Portillo was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Nuview Bridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, California Military Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 24-13 to Hamilton.
Alanis Nunez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Yoselin Perry, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
California Military Institute's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Nuview Bridge, their record is now 9-6-1.
California Military Institute's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Nuview Bridge has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.7 hits per game. It's a different story for California Military Institute, though, as they've been averaging 14.5 hits. Given Nuview Bridge's sizable advantage in that area, the Rough Riders will need to find a way to close that gap.
