1A-1 Region I District 4 recap October 8, 2013
Stamford scaled the state rankings by moving to 237 from 280 this week, the biggest jump in 1A-1 Region I District 4. The Bulldogs were able to move up by defeating Seymour 50-17.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Anson beat Tahoka 48-18. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Tigers.
Dylan Hanson threw for 334 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 20-44 with 1 interception.
Hanson put up the best numbers through the air as Haskell lost to City View. Hanson's favorite target this week was Henry Smith, who caught 6 passes for 148 yards.
5-foot-8 quarterback Hanson of the Indians is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,236. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is James Washington. The Stamford star has 35 catches for 527 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Forsan takes on Haskell. The Buffaloes are in fourth place, while Grady Benton's team is in third place.
Forsan lost to Sundown 40-2 last week, the largest margin of any game. Walker Park ran for 127 yards in the loss.
