The North East Grape Pickers were the 54-49 winner over the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. North East fell to Mercyhurst Prep 52-46. North East has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mercyhurst Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddox Brzuz, who scored 16 points. Brzuz hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Ashton, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
North East's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Mercyhurst Prep, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
North East will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Seneca at 7:30 p.m. As for Mercyhurst Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Fairview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
