The Booker Tornadoes had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 45-33 to North Port on Monday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Booker in their matchups with North Port: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Tornadoes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jovan Palavra, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Micah Brewer, who scored 8 points.
North Port can attribute much of their success to Brennen Ingle, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Lubsey, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds.
Booker's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for North Port, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Booker will square off against Imagine School at North Port at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Imagine School at North Port focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for North Port, they will head out on the road to face off against Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Charlotte presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Port in Florida (Charlotte is ranked 20th, while North Port is ranked 195th).
